WOMEN’S FLAG FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The National Football League (NFL) is dedicated to fostering the growth of women’s flag football worldwide. In support of multiple colleges and universities, the NFL proudly endorses RCX Sports Foundation presenting the Women’s Flag Football Scholarship Program. This program aims to empower women globally by offering four regional scholarships for flag football players to attend a US college or university that offers Varsity Flag. Through these scholarships, the RCX Sports Foundation seeks to encourage women to pursue their passion for flag football while furthering their education.
- Number of Scholarships: Four scholarships are available.
- Regional Distribution: One scholarship will be awarded in each region – Latin America & Caribbean, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
- Scholarship Duration: The scholarships are valid for one academic year.
Eligibility and Requirements:
To be eligible for the Women’s Flag Football Scholarship, applicants must:
- Apply and be admitted to a US college or university that offers Varsity Flag for women.
- Submit an essay of 500 words or less describing the impact flag football has had on them or why they are excited to play flag football at the collegiate level.
- Submit SAT/ACT scores, transcripts, an essay, and a recommendation.
- Show acceptable proof of graduation as defined by the district, state, province.
Applicants will be evaluated, and finalists will be selected by a selection committee of NFL representatives based on the following criteria:
- Academic record.
- Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities.
- Work experience.
- A statement of educational and career goals and objectives.
- Unusual personal or family circumstances, including experience in and passion for flag football.
- An online recommendation.
- Financial need will be considered, and recipients must demonstrate need.
From the list of finalists, the NFL will select the scholarship recipients.
Benefits and Support:
- Scholarship Coverage: Each recipient will receive an award of up to $15,000 to cover tuition fees, accommodation, books, and room and board.
- Additional Mentorship: Recipients will have the opportunity to receive mentorship from trailblazers in the flag football world.

- Selection Committee: A selection committee will be involved in the decision-making process.
- Promotional Activities: Scholarship recipients may be expected to participate in promotional activities or events related to the program.
- Performance and Academic Standards: Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic and performance standards as determined by their respective colleges or universities.
